This is just an idea, guys, for telling and showing your special date she is Prom Queen to you whether she lobbied for votes or not. A pretty crown themed necklace may let her feel like royalty and give her a lovely keepsake to remember the magical night. Check out these beauties from artists around the country. Jenna Dewan, born December 3rd 1980, grew up in Dallas, Texas and began dancing at age 5. She was a natural, and during her teenage years she passionately pursued her love of dance, winning many scholarships and awards. She attended college at the University of Southern California, and at the same time booked dancing roles in music videos from artists such as Mandy Moore and Toni Braxton. Things took a dramatic turn when Jenna got cast in Janet Jackson’s video, Doesn’t Really Matter. Janet asked her to tour with her and Jenna left everything behind to follow her dreams. It’s paying off with growing fame and film roles. Photo, Yahoo Movies

When you think of goddesses you don’t think of stick figures. Plus sized gowns are as gorgeous as any other sized designs. These sites have more choices at different prices too, but as you can see, lovely pieces come in under $100. Some of these are on sale so check it out quick if you like one because sizes and quantity may be limited. Bookmark the sites for checking in on later for more sales. I linked to two gowns just slightly over $100 (in addition to the five, scroll down) since they were so lovely you had to see them.

A fun thing to do with the leftover wrapping paper and cards is to create fun things like ornaments you can use next year. Trees full of handmade ornaments made from recycled paper are always in fashion. You’ll remember all over again the fun you had this year and the wonderful gifts you received when seeing the paper again as a decoration. You can give them as gifts too. Of course there are other things you can do with cards and papers, and here are some fun links to ideas. Photo, MoonlitJazz

Fashion themed gifts are something you will enjoy giving and enjoy seeing in use, and in some cases, give you something fashionable back! If you have a family member who is a budding fashion model, designer or fashionista, these gifts will make their faces light up. Photo, Bigbrothersisters.org

This is a very creative idea by Glam.com to show combinations of dress, jewelry, shoes and other accessories, for holiday fashion inspired by US cities. It’s a fun way to look at dressing for the season. It’s of course not a rule but a suggestion. I live in New York City but love the gown suggested for parties in Aspen! Photos, glam.com
Have a look:

Since I mentioned that sexy romantic hairstyle look the LOTR films inspired I thought I’d point out one special shop that makes fashions (not costumes) that would look wonderful in the holiday season with hairstyles inspired by Lord of the Rings or medieval times. Wearing a costume for fun is one thing but to be in the inspired fashion and not have it be costumey is something not every clothing maker can achieve. I will from time to time feature one special clothing designer (send in suggestions too!) and this one seemed appropriate to show now, Gypsy Moon. Photo, Gypsy Moon

Lord of the Rings hairstyles seem particularly suited to the holidays. Maybe because they look perfect with long velvet holiday gowns and loose flowing button-down shirts for men. Many men today have long hair so these styles are sexy and keep hair neat and sleek. The styles are mostly braided so here are how-tos on getting that braid perfect and smooth. These looks on ladies are perfect for tucking in some baby’s breath or jewelled combs and barettes. These styles look pretty on girls too. Photos, One Ring, War of the Ring, Evenstar

The Prom started in the 1920’s in the US and is the classic American rite of passage for students from all walks of life. One of the functions of the prom, planned from almost the very start, is to bring together people from all financial standings and heritage. Of course there have been controversies thoughout its history. Same sex and interracial couples have had to fight in court to get barriers to attending together removed. A modest prom gown or dress does not mean a burlap sack and a rope around the middle. Here are a selection of gowns offered online that if you didn’t know they were qualified to be called “modest” you would have just thought they were pretty prom gowns. Some can be found for under $100. Photo, Eddie Gist

Blogging Project Runway posted this news from Page Six.
Looks like everyone who loves Project Runway (and more) will want to tune in to see this. Nice to have shows about talent and creativity, not, as Michael Kors says, “eating bugs”.
“December 17, 2006 — STEVEN Spielberg has caught the fashion bug. The Oscar-winning producer/director is devel oping a TV show about the runway world with supermodel Christy Turlington and her husband, actor/writer/director Ed Burns, Variety reports. The untitled show, being produced for 20th Century Fox TV and DreamWorks Television, is slated to run as an hourlong series on Fox. Spielberg tapped Burns to write the series, and Burns brought in his wife. “The project revolves around five 20-somethings who will represent all walks of the fashion world, including photographer, model, fashion designer and makeup artist.”

Its possible! Remember it’s you that’s the star and your gown is merely decoration. Here are some recommendations for new 2007 season dresses and sales that are under $100. One suggestion comes from a bridesmaid source, you can also look through local vintage and thrift stores, because I want to remind you to be creative when looking for affordable lovely gowns. No one will know where your dress came from, they’ll just love how pretty you look. Photo, TradingTree.com
